Musings from the eyes of a 4 year old

Tonight was parent teacher interviews and we spent most of it desperately searching for a 'white' toilet . Jade was refusing to sit on a black colored toilet seat because it scared her. Legs crossed, almost peeing her pants we finally found a white toilet seat in the staffroom bathroom.
We narrowly missed an accident. The teachers were most amused

Daddy buys her a chocolate treat for having such a wonderful report from the teacher. 10 minutes later she wants another treat to which we sternly say no. Here comes the pout and a declaration of "I'm running away" One problem. She insists on writing a goodbye letter and because she can't spell, asks for help writing the letter. No one will be her accomplice. She can't run away from home because she can't write the running away, goodbye letter. We all had to try very hard not to laugh. Impossible.

When I was J's age, I decided to run away from home because my mom wouldn't let me go down the street to my friend's house. I loudly declared that I no longer wanted to be in the family and that I was running away.

My dad went upstairs, packed my little kid suitcase and set it out on the porch and asked if I needed a ride anywhere. It infuriated me so much I changed my mind.

OMG, thats too funny! Jesse ran away once too, but returned after 20 minutes because she realized having a bag full of undies and a stuffed animal wasn't going to cut it
